Christmas postal disruption is a real consideration for subscription box owners. Deliveries slow down, cut-off dates move earlier, and if you're away over the festive period, there's the question of what happens to a box that arrives when nobody's home.
Here's everything you need to know to manage your subscription smoothly through Christmas.
Order Cut-Off Dates
To receive your December box before Christmas, you need to be aware of our dispatch cut-off dates. We'll communicate these clearly in November — but as a general rule, orders placed before mid-December will reliably arrive before Christmas with standard delivery. Orders placed in the week before Christmas should use express delivery to be safe.
If You're Going Away
If you're away over Christmas and won't be home to receive your box, you have a few options:
- Pause your subscription for the month — our subscriptions can be paused at any time with no penalty
- Update your delivery address to wherever you'll be staying if it's a longer trip
- Arrange with a neighbour to accept the delivery — our boxes are clearly labelled and contain natural treats, nothing that will perish overnight
Pausing is always the simplest solution. You won't miss a box — you'll just skip that month and resume when you're back home. Manage this through your account or contact us directly.
Gifting a Subscription at Christmas
If you're giving a subscription as a Christmas gift, timing the first delivery is worth thinking about. Options:
- Set the first box to deliver before Christmas so it can be opened on Christmas morning
- Set the first box to deliver in January — the gift that arrives after the festivities is a lovely thing to look forward to
- Give a physical gift to open on Christmas Day (the first box, pre-ordered) and set the subscription to continue from January
